1. Walt Disney : a self-made man

Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois.
He lived on a farm with his parents, his three brothers and his sister.

When he was a child, Walt loved drawing. He sold his pictures to neighbours when he was only seven years old!

After the Second World War, he went to Kansas City and worked as an advertising cartoonist. In 1923, he went to Hollywood and started to work on animated cartoons with the help of his brother Roy.

He created Mickey Mouse in 1928.

His first animated film was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, in 1937.
In 1940, more than 1.000 artists, animators, writers and technicians worked for the Disney Studios!
Disneyland Park opened in 1955 in California.

Walt Disney died on December 15, 1966.
